The Poet

Pamela French’s figurative works draws on the modernist techniques of figurative paintings and a more liberated hand to the brushstrokes. The figure within French’s paintings have been informed through her fascination of interpreting and depicting the lives and personal stories of her sitters. Here, French represents the figure as a morphed image; its form merging within its surrounds. French typically explores human relationships and its transformative state within its environment, as well as representing more meta themes of the subconscious, memory and perception.
